Welcome to AP Psychology!! This college-level course is a lot of work but can also be extremely rewarding both in the form of college credit and saving money, but also in the form of a greater understanding of yourself!
Google Classroom Access Code: mxufytg
Most class assignments can be found and completed on Google Classroom. The general flow of the class will include weekly homework notes on unit chapters, a visual to help represent a concept in the unit, and a list of vocabulary to define and study for a weekly vocabulary quiz.
Additionally homework assignments and projects will be given as announced. These will always be posted on the Google Classroom site.
Prior to each unit exam, there will be an optional after-school review session. In addition, review sessions will be held regularly after school beginning in April to lead up to the AP Exam.

9.4 Group Influences on Behavior and Mental Processes
9.5 Bias, Prejudice, and Discrimination
9.6 Altruism and Aggression
9.7 Interpersonal Attraction
Objectives:
Comparison analysis of attribution in social behavior.
Explain the effect of role-playing on attitudes in terms of cognitive dissonance theory.
Describe Milgram’s controversial experiments on obedience.
Analyze how group interaction can facilitate group polarization and groupthink.
Describe the social, emotional and cognitive factors that contribute to the persistence of cultural, ethnic, and gender prejudice and discrimination.
Compare and contrast the issues related to aggression and attraction.
Explain altruistic behavior in terms of social exchange theory and social norms.
REVIEW FOR AP PSYCHOLOGY TEST (3 WEEKS)
After-school review sessions will be held daily (unless otherwise noted) in the weeks leading up to the AP Psychology Exam. It is expected that students make time to attend at least 2 of these. Even if a student is involved in a sports activity, they will need to make arrangements with their coach to attend AP review sessions. Every student who passed the AP Psych Exam last school year, attended after-school review sessions.
