Teaching the Question, Not Just the Answers: A Threshold Concept for Undergraduate Research
We developed Question-Discover-Use <http://shortlinks.oswego.edu/nichols/question-discover-use/q-d-u-in-brief> as a new framework for information literacy instruction in anticipation of the forthcoming replacement of the ACRL Standards with a new model or framework for information literacy that will include metaliteracy and threshold concepts. In this session, I will focus on posing a question as a threshold concept in the research process. The Question will be viewed in terms of improving writing and critical thinking as well as searching for sources, Methods for teaching the posing of questions will also be reviewed.
