Restaurant franchisee which had to move off their existing proprietary accounting system, in a short period of time due to an urgent situation. We were able to get them up and running in under 3 weeks. They are using the free and open source community version of the accounting software. We have implemented some enhancements, and contributed them back to the community.

They wanted to be able to integrate with their web shopping cart and non-profit membership system, which is also running on an open source platform. They have a mixed environment with a Linux server, some workstations on MS windows and some on Linux. They wanted a system which fits their current needs, can adapt and grow, and does not lock them into a proprietary vendor or platform. There are plans to move this solution out to other associated businesses in the area, and other government departments, for little additional cost.

Sarbanes Oxley compliance project at an Insurance company which is a division of the Toronto Dominion bank. We were involved with documenting business processes in the IT and general controls area, assessing controls, designing test plans, and assessing effectiveness of controls. We were also involved in similar work with application controls and the financial processes.

We are involved in preparing the Sox documentation, monitoring the various remediation plans, assisting with the implementation of new processes and best practices, walk thrus and testing of the various processes for the major IT cycles - Software development and program changes, Security and Operations.
