Students all must read, know, and understand the district’s AUP.
Assign specific times for screen leisure.
Restate classroom expectations at the beginning of every class.
Gives students a verbal warning the first time they are using a technological tool inappropriately.
Take the students device the second time they are using the device inappropriately during the class period and assign a teacher detention.
Walk around the classroom. By walking around and monitoring student behavior and work, you will have many less students off task and using took inappropriately than if you sit at your desk.
Have a list of BYOD Rules and Procedures posted in the classroom.
Have devices out and face down or closed when you need students attention.
Have screen checks. Say screen check and the students must instantly hold up their device and show their screen.
Have a device container or safe place where students can put their devices during a test or other time when devices need to be secured.
