04/29/24 - Week 35 Classroom News!
Important Information:
Homework packets for the week of 04/29 went home on 04/26. Once we are done with chapter 12 in math, we will be finished with homework packets for the year. Just 2 more weeks of homework after this!!
This may be our last week at the JFD library. Please return your child’s library book on 04/30/24.
We are currently out of tissues if anyone can send a box or two to get us through the last few weeks.
Students recently submitted an illustration for a contest titled, “Me and My Family” to a company called Young Artist. The company sent stickers and certificates for each child. Photos will be posted on our class Facebook page on 04/30/24.
The Museum on Wheels presentation was a big success. The kids did a great job learning about the rainforest. Photos are up on our class Facebook page.
Please send in an empty cereal box by May 6th. Students will be using these to store their realistic fiction stories in them and creating their own “box set.” If you have an extra box, we will take that too!
Important Dates
Week of 05-06 through 05-10: Teacher Appreciation Week
Wednesday, May 8th - Out of school field trip to Madcap Field to see the performance The Wizard of Oz! *PLEASE PACK LUNCHES **Mrs. Klayer and Mr. Walls will be attending this field trip.
Tuesday, May 14th - The last PTA meeting of the year at 6:30pm in the teacher lunch room. All are invited to attend. We will also attend the 5th grade market day event during the school day. (There is nothing you need to do for this.)
Thursday, May 16th - Track & Field! First graders will have track and field events from 11:45-1:45 pm. All first graders should wear their JFD Black walk a thon shirts, shorts, and gym shoes on this day. Students can wear sunglasses and hats if they choose. Please send in a water bottle with their name on it! Sunscreen should be applied before coming to school. **Mrs. Casey and

Thursday, May 23rd - Duebbers Ice Cream Truck (I am looking for someone to send in 21 bowls, 21 spoons and 2 things of sprinkles if possible.)
