11/27/23 - Week 15 Classroom News!
Important Information:
Homework packets for the week of 11/27 are coming home on Monday 11/27. They are on white paper.
Spotlight Student: Macy Maguire is our spotlight student for 12/01 and Colton Klayer is on deck for 12/08.
Thank you to everyone already sending in donations for the first grade Winter Wonderland Basket. Here is the link for the First Grade Raffle Basket Donation We are looking for some Squishmallow donations OR Money/Target gift cards to go towards Squishmallows specifically. If you have signed up for something please send that in as soon as you can so I can assemble the baskets. Have all items sent in by no later than this Friday, December 1st please!!

Saturday, December 9th - JFD Winter Wonderland. Sensory friendly time from 10:30-11:00, Open to all from 11:00-2:00

Thursday, December 21st - End of 2nd Quarter (Already… Yikes. Just like that we’re halfway through the school year.)

Reading:
In reading, our theme will be: Mo Williems: Having Fun with Humor. The books this week include: Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale, Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity.
Our shared reading book: Dance & Twirl, Tap, Tap, Tappity Tap
High Frequency Focus Words: Review put, take. New words are: every, old
(Note: our focus words for the week are also on our weekly spelling tests. You could practice these two words at home.)
Phonics Skill: consonant digraph: ch, sh. Then we will move into consonant digraph th, wh, ck
HFW: Additional practice with high frequency words on contracts.
Writing: Nonfiction writing
If you want to print photographs at home to go with your child’s nonfiction book at school feel free to do so. Just ask your child what teaching topic they are writing about!
