Understanding FERPA and CCP

When a minor age child progresses through grades K-12, parents/guardians have a right to access their educational records. However once a child enters a college course at any age, the right to access educational records for the college course(s) transfers to the student. Click on the link above to learn more about the FERPA law.

 CCP Academic Eligibility Rules

Any CCP student who has a college cumulative GPA of less than a 2.0 or withdraws late from 2 or more classes in one semester will be put on academic probation. Students on probation will be permitted to take only one CCP class the following semester. The probationary semester does not include summer, it must be either a fall or spring semester. Students will not be permitted to participate in a CCP course within the subject area which they earned either a D, F or received no credit due to late withdrawal. Any student deemed ineligible for two consecutive terms of enrollment will be dismissed from the CCP program. Students may appeal their probation or dismissal status. The appeal process is outlined on the OFCS CCP Probation and Dismissal Form below.
