Welcome to Ms. Moore's Class at St. Cecilia!
February 19, 2019 Dear Parents & Guardians, Last Thursday, I announced to the students that I will be away for an extended absence. On the second last day of June 2017, I fell at school and broke the elbow on my right arm. I've recently learned that it did not heal properly and the only way to improve the pain and functionality of my right arm is to do a radial head replacement surgery. So... my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday next week. I am currently scheduled to be away from school until about the end of May. When I return to school will be dependent upon what my doctors and physiotherapists recommend. I am very sorry to leave the kids and create disruption in their routine, and I will miss them greatly! I do have some positive news! Mrs. Green has hired a teacher to replace me in a Long Term Occasional contract. Her name is Maya Tomczak. Ms. Tomczak is a well known and loved substitute teacher here at St. Cecilia, and she is very excited to begin working with our students in grades six and four. I have already started working with Ms. Tomczak to ensure a smooth transition for the students and that she is aware of student needs. Ms. Tomczak will continue to use this website to give updates on the curriculum and homework. Look out for a message from her soon. My last day of school is this Friday. I will be calling some parents directly this week to talk about report cards and goals or concerns for term two.  In our classroom this year we have the following life-threatening food allergies: peanuts, tree nuts, fish & shellfish Please do not send food containing these items to school. Remind your child not to share food with their friends, just in case. Thank you!  Please call if your child will be absent from school.
