Lesson 1: Geometric Transformations
This unit is divided into three parts. Part one will be coding using Hopscotch or Scratch. The second part will focus on transformations of shapes on a grid. Please note that rotations are difficult for many students. I have attached a PDF for extra help. Part 3 will focus on tessellations and analyzing designs (geometry art).
By the end of this unit, I will be able to:
perform tessellations (and determine the transformation involved)
describe the location in the four quadrants of a coordinate system
dilatate shapes
create and analyze designs involving translations, reflections and rotations
The textbook covers some of the expectations. The following sections in Chapter 7 should be used as a reference:

Assignment
Logo Assignment
Find three logos (same theme). One logo should have a translation, one should have a reflection and one should have a rotation. Students should SHARE a document with me with a one sentence explanation as to where the transformation is. No need to print this assignment
For example:
Translation Rotation Reflection
