Guidelines
Oconee RESA's Annual Regional Technology Competition is open to students in grades 3 - 12.
We proudly serve the counties of Baldwin, Hancock, Johnson, Putnam, Washington, and Wilkinson.
General Guidelines:
The registration fee is $18 per student. We cannot issue refunds or credits to invoices after registration has been verified.
Students may participate as individuals or in teams of two. If a project consists of a team that has one 4th grade member and one 5th grade member, that team will participate in the higher grade level division of 05-06.
Only first place winners will advance to the State Technology Competition.
Projects should be current, original student work created on a device. A parent or teacher may help the student, but the majority of the work should be the student's own.
Documentation Guidelines:
The Georgia Educational Student Technology Competition (GASTC) is NOT an educational entity and "use for educational purposes" for citations/permissions/attributes does not apply. Our regional competition follows the rules and regulations of the GASTC. Therefore:
Students must obtain written "permission" from the source of any image/text/work not created by the student.
"Citations/Attributions" will only be accepted for images/text/work licensed under Creative Commons. Please visit Creative Commons to learn more.
Project Guidelines:
The student(s) should be able to explain the project, defend their choice of software, and show how the software was used to create the project.
Students unable to present their projects, even due to illness, may NOT use "proxies" unless they are part of the original, registered team.
Violent or inappropriate projects will not be judged. Please review your students' projects.
Judges have the right to disqualify any project deemed violent or inappropriate.
