These are the units we will do during the year.
Football
The football unit will consist of Endzone Ball which is also called Aerial Football. It is a variation of Ultimate Frisbee except with a football. We will sometimes make it outside to play 1 hand touch football.
Soccer
The soccer unit will consist of basic rules and skills. 7 on 7 indoor soccer will be played with an emphasis on positions and team responsibility. Outdoor soccer may be played depending on the weather and number of players available.
Badminton
The badminton unit will consist 2 days of fundamental skills and rules. Five days of playing champion of the court which allows for improvement of badminton skills.
Basketball
The basketball unit will consist of three days of fundamental skills and rules. We will then play a variety of basketball games to reinforce those skills.
Fitness
The Fitness Unit will be one week each quarter. There will be fitness stations and relays to work on cardio and lower and upper body strength. The goal is for each student to get their heart rate between 140 and 175 for 30 minutes.
Tennis/Volleyball
While the boys take part in the Football unit, the girls will play Volleyball or Tennis.
Table Tennis
The table tennis unit will consist of 1 day of rules and skills and three days of champion of the court. Table tennis is a great game to work on hand/eye coordination.
Floor Hockey
The floor hockey unit will cover basic rules and strategy. It will have four days of games with different teams each day. This unit is non-contact. Checking, high sticking, and slashing will result in a visit to the penalty box. The request for a television in the penalty box has been denied.
Volleyball
The volleyball unit will consist of 2 or 3 days of fundamental skills and rules. Teams will be determined and a round robin tournament will be completed. This will be followed by a playoff.
