Board of Governors Merit Scholarship

The Board of Governors Merit Scholarship is based on academic achievement as demonstrated on the students ACT or MAP test scores. The award is for full tuition for a maximum of four consecutive academic semesters (fall & spring terms only) for a student starting college in the fall term and who graduated from high school the previous school year.

Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

    1. Complete the Board of Governors Scholarship Application and Admissions Applications prior to March 1, 2021.

    2. Be a current high school student with an expected graduation date during the 2020-2021 academic school year from a high school within the Northeast service area.

    3. Be a current resident of Nebraska.

    4. Achieve an ACT composite test score of 23 or higher, or a minimum of the following

        • MAP Test

        • Math: 252

        • Language Usage: 232

        • Reading: 232

    5. Enroll as a full-time degree-seeking student at Northeast for the fall term following graduation from high school.

    6. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and meet the financial aid standards of satisfactory academic progress each semester.

You must complete the Online Scholarship Application to apply for the Board of Governor's Scholarship.

President’s Scholarship for Early College Students

The President's Scholarship is based on academic achievement and completion of at least one Northeast college credit class while in high school. The award is for one-half tuition over four consecutive academic semesters (fall & spring terms only) for a student starting college in the fall term and who graduated from high school the previous school year.

Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

    1. Complete the President’s Scholarship for Early College Application and Admissions Applications prior to March 1, 2020.

    2. Be a current high school student with an expected high school graduation date during the 2019-2020 academic school year from a school within the Northeast Service Area.

    3. Be a current resident of Nebraska.

    4. Achieve an ACT composite test score of 18 or higher, or a minimum of the following

        • MAP Test

        • Math: 234

        • Language Usage: 223

        • Reading: 223

    5. Complete at least one Northeast credit class prior to graduation from high school with an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or higher for all college classes.

    6. Enroll as a full-time degree-seeking student at Northeast for the fall term following graduation from high school.

    7. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and meet the financial aid standards of satisfactory academic progress each semester.

Dean’s Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to a student starting college in the fall term who graduated from high school the previous May. This scholarship is awarded by the high school and can be based upon local criteria along with the following minimum Northeast requirements:

    1. Be a current high school student with an expected graduation during the 2019-2020 academic school year from a high school within the Northeast 20-county service area

    2. Be a current resident of Nebraska

    3. Enroll as a full-time, degree seeking student for the fall term following graduation from high school

    4. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and meet the Northeast Financial Aid Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress during each semester

Department Scholarships and Tuition Waivers

Department Scholarships and Tuition Waivers in athletics, drama, journalism, livestock judging, music, and dance, and theatre are awarded in limited numbers through individual departments. Please contact the individual department on how to apply.
