4- Academic eligibility: You need a C average across all classes. You also can not fail any core classes or fail both elective classes to be eligible to play for MGMS. Keep your grades up! This is the most important thing! Always remember that you are a STUDENT-athlete.
5- Get started today! Find time to stay active every day. The best thing you can do is RUN! Be safe when and where you run, and ask a trusted adult about how to find time for this. I will send you an invite to our BLAX Google Classroom and you can see drills that you can start if you already have equipment.
Mark your calendars! We will have two lacrosse workouts on Friday, February 28th and Friday, March 7th. You will only need to bring cleats for the workouts. If you have a lacrosse stick, you can bring that too but it is not required.
Try-outs will be on Wednesday, March 12th. Only students who have completed the above steps will be eligible to attend these afterschool events. Have your ride ready to pick you up at 5:30pm.

A note from the coach:
Through my experiences as a coach, player, and sergeant, I’ve come to understand the secret to a winning formula – and it’s not really a secret. Many great athletes realize that teamwork is the foundation of victory and soldiers understand that it means survival! While it sounds simple, building a team-first mentality within an organization can be challenging. The Gator Team Rules outlined above are the guiding values that will help us foster this attitude, and with them, we will be an unstoppable team! Just understand that with this mentality, you individually will not be able to do whatever you want at any time. It takes all of us to be on the same page with your leader spearheading the charge! I will challenge you and do all I can to set you on the right path, and with that said, just know that I am tough on you because I LOVE YOU! Some of you will quit, but what I say to that is this... NEVER EVER QUIT! You will have never ending challenges in your life, and under my guidance, you will develop the lion mentality and heart of a champion! Those who allow me to steer them back on the right path will know what it means to be a team player, a great athlete, a fearless leader, and an all round wonderful human being! This will be a lot of hard work. Be ready, and get fired up because it is time for some lacrosse! - Coach Giddo
