Levels of Knowledge

• Factual Knowledge - basic knowledge for a specific content area.

• Conceptual Knowledge - classifications, theories, principles, generalizations, models or structures for a specific content area

• Procedural Knowledge - information that helps students to do something within a content area.  This could be methods, specific skills, or techniques.

• Metacognitive Knowledge - a student's awareness of his/her own cognitive process to complete a task. This could be reflective.
