Click on "Apply to this Job"

Follow the instructions, complete and submit the online application form
In addition to the online form, you will need to include the following documents:
A cover letter that includes the following information and is no longer that 2 pages:Your academic and professional goals.
Projected timetable for completion of your degree.
Your teaching philosophy.
Why do you teach?
What do you believe in or value about teaching and student learning?
How dos your identify/background influence teaching and learning in your classes?
How do you take into account differences in student ability and learning styles?
What is your approach to evaluating and assessing students?
Your general teaching interests. Please be sure to list a teaching interest from among the programs which are hiring – many programs do not hire TFs and will not be reviewing applications.
A curriculum vitae that includes the following information:
Educational background including Master’s work and thesis topic, if available
Academic honors
Field of specialty and subfields
Dissertation topic
Grade level of courses taken
Professional experience/development
Teaching interests and areas you are prepared to teach
Languages

Many programs require a short paragraph describing each of two to four courses you would be interested in teaching and why. Some of the programs hiring TFs will consider these descriptions as suggested course proposals, although many Teaching Fellows are assigned courses needed by the program. Specific information as to what each program requires will be provided in a document available on this webpage that will include detailed information on potential teaching fellowships.

Timeline for Review and Selections
End of fall semester: Application due:
Mid-January: Graduate Students are emailed notification of their status: Not Eligible, Tentatively Eligible, or Eligible
Mid-January through February: Students may be contacted for interviews.
Mid-March: Program Directors and Department Chairs are given access to Teaching Fellowship applications.
April 1: Students will be notified if they are selected as a Teaching Fellow.
Students will be notified if they are not selected as a Teaching Fellow. Please note that additional opportunities may become available throughout the months leading up to each semester. When this happens, appropriate application materials will be distributed for review. Questions should be sent to gradstudentteaching@newschool.edu.
