Before beginning the application process, review the TA Opportunities List and TA Opportunities Detail.
The TA Opportunities List includes:
Course titles
College and program/departments in which the courses will be taught
Faculty members who will teach the courses
Semester in which the courses will be offered
Number of anticipated hours per week for the position
Approximate number of TA positions for each course
Compensation for TA positions for each course
The TA Opportunities Details includes:
Course descriptions
Biographies of faculty members who will teach the courses
Applicants may also want to review the document Useful Information for TA Applicants to find out what information should be included in a cover letter and curriculum vitae and to review possible interview questions should you be called for an interview. We recommend having these documents handy when you are in the application form. There are links within the application form, however, clicking on them will open an older version of these documents in the same tab as the application form.
To submit your application:
Log on to the university's careers site to apply.
Click the "Students" button.
Select "Teaching Assistantships 2016-2017."
Click on "Apply to This Job."
Create an account.
Follow the instructions to complete and submit the application.
Please note the following about the application:
There are four drop-down boxes where you will select your preferences of courses for which you would like to be a Teaching Assistant, as well as a question asking you to indicate subject areas for which you would be able to TA. There is a question prior to the drop-down box that we could not delete from the application form that duplicates these questions - you do not need to complete the first question: "Please select up to 6 areas or courses for teaching interests". Hold down the 'CTRL' button to multi-select choices." When submitting your cover letter and CV or résumé, please use the following naming convention:
LastName_FirstName_Division_Department/Program_CoverLetter
LastName_FirstName_Division_Department/Program_CV_Resume
Example: Smith_Joan_NSSR_Sociology_CV
