The Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority is offering zero interest deferred loans up to $25,000 for those first time home buyers who qualify. The potential purchased homes must be located within the city limits of Plymouth. Applicants must be first time home buyers (have not owned a home in three or more years and not displaced due to divorce).
In order to qualify, the applicants must pursue a participating lender. These loans can be used for up to 50% of a required down payment, 100% of the allowed closing costs but only up to $5,000 and for reduction of the mortgage principle. Repayment is due if the home is sold or no longer homesteaded within the first 30 years of home ownership. Past 30 years, the loan is due to be repaid.
Those seeking to apply need to also take a buyer training session. Applicants are accepted on a first-come, first served basis. Household income may not exceed income limits by household size. Program guidelines and income requirements are subject to change.
