Commanding Officer (CO) - The commanding officer is the highest person in charge for the Iron Bergade Regulators. This cadet calls the shots, approves decisions and comes up with ideas for our big events. This cadet has leadership over the ENTIRE unit. He or She goes to the insructors if anything goes wrong.
Rank C/LCDR (Lieutenant Commander)
Key Points: You have to Pass the PFT with a satisfactory or higher AND attend a NJROTC regulated Leadership Training (EX: Leadership Academy, Command Course or BLT) to earn this position.
Executive Officer (XO) - The executive officer is the second highest person in charge. He or She directs the cadet staff and holds them accountable for whenever it is needed. If their is a staff member not able to fill their positon the XO will fill that billet in for the time being. He or She goes to CO if anything goes wrong.
Rank C/LT (Lieutenant)

Command Senior Chief (CSC) - The command senior chief is third in command. He or she is the highest ranking chief. The Command Senior Cheif is the advice giver for any and all cadets who need it. He or She will guide to to a safe and right direction and will instruct you on what to do next. Your Senior Cheif is the person you go to if you have any conflict, advice or you just simply need help. He or She goes to XO if anything goes wrong.
Rank C/SCPO (Senior Cheif Petty Officer)
Key Points: You do not adress your Command Senior Cheif as ''sir'' or ''ma'am''. You adress them as ''chief.'' Due to the fact they are NOT a officer.
Opps Officer - The operations officer is the head person in charge of the Operations department. One of the main reponsablities is keeping the unit calendar updated. The Opps Officer also makes sure sign-up sheets and event requirements are up to date and set out prior to the event. You also have to have a key eye out for times for our team events and making sure they are scheulded accordingly. If for whatever reason the executive officer loses thier position the Opps Officer will fill in that billit. If anything goes wrong the Opps Officer reports to the XO.

Supply Officer -
Supply Chief - The Supply Chief is the assistant of the Supply Officer. He and She is in charge of making sure of whats going on regarding the supply department.
Public Affairs Officer (PAO) - Public Affairs Officer is in charge of the unit website (the one you are using right now.) He or She also takes and receives photos for all NJROTC related events. The PAO is also in charge of the unit google calendar and the plan of the week.
Their is not designated rank for PAO. The PAO's rank is reflected off what is in their sign off book.
1st Lieutenant -
Weapons Officer - The
Chaplin - The Chaplin provides the cadets with a support system and spiritual support. He or she is responsible for coordinating and or conducting prayers at all appropriate unit functions.
EX: Military Ball, Area Mangers/Off-Site Inspection, End-of-Year Awards Banquet,etc.
Theif is not a designated rank for Chaplin. The Chaplins rank is reflected off what is in their sign off book.
Drill Team Commander - The Drill Team Commander is in charge of the dirll card. He or She is in charge of commanding all drill competitions. This includes memorizing all three drill card and can effectily teach a team. This responsablility also includes setting up practices and communicating to instructors to set up dates. The Drill Team Commander reports to the XO for any mix ups.
Key Points: Yes, if you are a higher ranking cadet and have probelm on the team you report to the drill team commander. It is apart of being apart of the team. Being on any team means you have to put your rank assid and regonize that the team comamdner is in charge for a reason.
You need to have the drill cards memorized BEFORE the meet. You have the bus ride to pratcie your memorization of the card. Their should be no reason to not have the cards memorized. If it is not memorized you can and will be penalized and potentially removed from the billet, only if it is a on going behavor.
Their is not a designated rank for a Drill team commaner. The Drill Team Commander is reflected off what is in their sign off book.
Exhabition Drill Team Commander -
Colorguard Commander - The Colorguard Commander is in charge of the colorguard team. He or She is in charge of commanding all drill competitions, football games and oustide colorguard events. This includes memorizing the colorguard competition card and effectivily teach a team. This responsability also incldes setting up practices and communicating to instcurctors to set up dates. The Colorguard Team Commander reports to the XO for any mix ups.
Athletic Team Commander - The Athletic Team Commander is in charge of leading the athletic team. He or She is in charge of mainating consistant pratcices and setting up who is where for the meet. This includes scheduling practices and communictating to instructors to set up dates for practices. The Athletic Team Commander goes to the XO for any mix ups.
Academic Team Commander - The Academic Team Commander is in charge of leading the academic team. He or She is in charge of leading the academic team and having a deep understanding of the content. This roles includes holding and scheduling practices and communicating to instcurctiors to set up dates for practices. The Academic Team Commander goes to the XO for any mix ups.
Rifle Team Commander - The Rifle Team Commander is in charge of leading the rifle team. He or She is in charge of leading the rifle team and setting the example on the rifle range.
Orienteering Team Commander -
Key Points (Overall):
Yes you can hold multiple staff positions at once (Ex: CO and Academic Team commander). This also means the same cadet can hold two team commander billets too.
YES! You do wear your uniform if you are on the cadet staff and arenttaking the class. A cadet staff memeber holds themselves to the higest potential they can. The instructors and HHS teachers will keep a eye out for whenever a cadet staff member is not in uniform on a assigned uniform day.
NO! Not all staff members have dress blues! Cadet that are a Cheif Petty Officer higher, Drill, Ex Drill and Colorguard commanders (plus varsity colorgaurd) are the only cadets with dress blues.
YES! Staff meetings are mandatory. If you can not make it you need to communicate that to your XO days prior to the meeting. Staff memebers will be repromanded if they continuously miss staff meetings.
If their is ever any case where a cadet staff member loses their billet, said cadet will go back to the rank on their sign off sheet. This is due to the fact their are certain ranks where it should be person with said rank. It can cause confusion and tension in the unit.
