Swanton Crossroads Class Descriptions
Fall Session 2026 - September 8 - November 19 for Grades 4-6
MONDAYS
-BEDAZZLE IT!: Need a little sparkle? Join us for our bedazzling class where we will be diamond painting and adding sparkle to everyday items. Bring your own item(s) to bedazzle (water bottle, keychains ect) or choose from items that we have on hand.
-COMMUNITY CLUB: Organize a coat drive, make cards/art for local nursing homes, collect donations for the animal shelter. Clean up the playground and school areas including the outdoor classroom. Let’s help our community grow!
-MOVEMENT: We will be learning different types of movement/exercise each class. Zumba, jazzercise, aerobics, dance ect. Find your new favorite way to get some movement into your day!
TUESDAYS
-DANCE WITH TRIA: Join Tria to learn a dance routine to be performed at the end of the session. Must sign up for both Tuesday and Wednesday classes.
-GHOST STORIES & CRAFTS: Read spooky stories and create artwork to go along with the theme of the story. Do you dare?
-LEGO ROBOTICS: Want to build some great Lego creations and have them move? Join us for Lego Robotics. We have brand new kits ready to go. The only thing missing is your imagination!
-HUNTER EDUCATION @MVU: Sixth graders may join MVU students at MVU. Students will learn Hunter Education and safety with Mr. Poore, following the state’s regulated program, which includes firearm safety. Students will have the opportunity to test for their orange cards at the end of the session. Families must provide transportation to MVU after school for the 3:30 start time but students can take the bus home after the program. (GRADE 6 ONLY)
WEDNESDAYS
-DANCE WITH TRIA: Join Tria to learn a dance routine to be performed at the end of the session. Must sign up for both Tuesday and Wednesday classes.
-JUNK JOURNALING: Transform recycled paper, favorite pictures, and everyday memories into a handmade, personal keepsake book.
-THEATER GROUP: Join Ms. Abbey at the Library for a spectacular Theater Group at the Swanton Public Library. Be a part of the fun for this session's production. While you are working on the performance, MVU students will be working on the behind the scenes details. Want to find out what it is? Join us and find your new role!
THURSDAYS
-KLUB KARAOKE: Let’s belt out or lip sync your favorite songs! Take turns becoming your favorite singing and performing sensations.
-OPEN ART: Want to create but don’t know where to start? Art supplies are a-plenty in this open art class. Watercolors, yarn, paper crafts and more. Try your hand at something new.
-OPEN GYM: Get out some pent up energy in the gymnasium with our open gym class. Students will decide the theme or game of the day!

Swanton Explorers Class Descriptions
Fall Session 2026 - September 8 - November 19 for Grades 1-3
MONDAYS
-HISTORY QUEST: Ever wonder how ancient civilizations built their marvels without modern tools and technology? Come learn and create!
-MOVEMENT: Get those school day wiggles out and learn new ways to stay active.
-WONDERS OF NATURE: Spend time in our outdoor classroom learning about different eco-systems and discovering the world that surrounds us. Daily crafts and experiments!
TUESDAYS
-BOOKS, ART, FOOD & FUN: Enjoy a story then a craft and/or snack based on the book that students will help create. Fun for everyone!
-SENSORY ART & PLAY: Make squishies, slime, salt painting, paint bubbles and more! Come give your hands something constructive to do.
-STEM CHALLENGES: You don’t have to be a math whiz to enjoy STEM with us. Building challenges, science projects, who knows? A fun time for sure no matter what.
WEDNESDAYS
-BEADING FUN: How many different ways can we find to make beautiful beaded creations to brighten up our world? Let's find out!
-NO-BAKE COOKING: Let’s learn some new and exciting ways to make snacks fun! Join us in our no heat/no bake cooking class and see how to take everyday ingredients that kids love and make it exciting.
-GAME SHUFFLE: What better way to spend a day than playing a familiar board game with a friend or maybe try out a new game.
THURSDAYS
-COLOR OUR WORLD: Learn about different cultures and how art has shaped their world.
-CRYPTID CLUB: Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster. Everyone has heard about them. Did you know that each state has its very own Cryptid? (A Cryptid is an animal or creature whose existence is claimed or rumored, but has never been proven or verified by science.) Learn about different states and their supposed creatures!
-OPEN GYM: Come play with our assortment of gym equipment and learn new games!
