Fall Programs will Begin September 8th
Highgate Elementary Tutoring is offering academic support after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:15 for grades 1-6. Students that participate in tutoring may receive after school meals. Students that register for tutoring can transition to the Crossroads program after tutoring.

Highgate Crossroads Class Descriptions
Fall Session 2026 - September 8 to November 19 for Grades 4-6
MONDAYS
-BIKING: Mr. Bernie will bring you for an adventure on the rail trail to challenge those muscles and learn new skills in endurance training! You will need your own helmet, sunscreen, bug spray and a high visibility vest. This is a rain or shine class so please be prepared to go exercise no matter what mother nature has in store. (grades 4-6)
-BRACELETS, BRACELETS & MORE!: Ms. Steph will walk you through some awesome bracelet making and teach you new skills that you will want to share with others. For instance, you will be learning how to spread friendship and joy to others with bright colors while honing your fine motor skills. (grades 3-6)
-INDOOR & OUTDOOR GAMES: Join Mr. Dawson for a variety of games, both indoors & out. Feeling tired after your school day, Mr. Dawson is going to bring that energy back for a great time! (grades 4-6)
TUESDAYS
-DIAMOND ART: Brought back by popular demand. Join the new fad by making projects with shiny gems that will be able to be displayed for years to come. This class will teach you mindfulness and patience with a great end result. (grades 4-6)
-GAMES & PUZZLING: Enjoy puzzling or playing a game with your classmates? Arlee will be your go to when making those choices. Lots of laughs, smiles and good times! (grades 4-6)
-HIGHGATE ACTORS’ THEATER: Highgate Actors Theater will work together to put a wonderful performance together. This session the play will be Gooney Bird Greene, based on the book by Lois Lowry. Ms. Ernie is so excited to work with you this upcoming session. (grades 2-6) MUST ATTEND TU AND TH
-HUNTER EDUCATION @MVU: Sixth graders may join MVU students at MVU. Students will learn Hunter Education and safety with Mr. Poore, following the state’s regulated program, which includes firearm safety. Students will have the opportunity to test for their orange cards at the end of the session. Families must provide transportation to MVU after school for the 3:30 start time but students can take the bus home after the program. (GRADE 6 ONLY)
WEDNESDAYS
-CREATE WITH ELLIE: Miss Ellie will be teaching you how to crochet or continuing your skills you may already have and some paracord braiding! You will have about six weeks of crochet time and then six weeks of paracord creations! (grades 4-6)
-ENGINEERING: This NEW exciting pilot program is being brought to us by Global Foundries! In this class you will learn how computer chips are made and advanced manufacturing in general. Bring your thinking caps and be prepared to talk about the future! (grades 4-6)
-PERLER BEADS: Capture some eye-catching pixel art when you look at your final project. You will either have a theme or use your imagination days where you can bring the colors to the rainbow to life in your mind relaxing while creating! (grades 4-6)
THURSDAYS

-SCIENCE TIME: Miss Ellie is bringing our science experiment time to a whole new level. Be prepared to have some messy times and keep wondering what will happen next! (grades 4-6)
-WALKING & OUTDOOR CHALLENGES: Set a goal as a team and make it come true! Arlee will have walking challenges and outdoor challenges to get your daily exercise in and the blood pumping! (grades 4-6)

-BOARD GAMES GALORE: Mrs. Bellrose will have a variety of board games for you to enjoy and chill with your friends while challenging your mind. (grades 1-3)

-GUIDED DRAWING: Mrs. Bellrose has some guided drawing activities planned that will not only be a good time, but it will strengthen your motor skills, reinforce your logical thinking and enhance your listening skills. (grades 1-3)

-STEM FUN: Science and technology time with Ms. Erin that you are bound to have some observations/hypothesises that will grow into further learning. Messy times and experimenting are so much fun! (grades 1-3)
WEDNESDAYS
-CHOICES ARE THE WAY: Mr. Dawson will be ready each day with three choices for you to choose from! When you can’t make up your mind what to do after a busy day at school you will be pleased to know you can just chill if needed. (grades 1-3)
-LIBRARY IMAGINEERS: The Highgate Public Library strikes again with another great collaboration! Where big ideas become awesome creations! Do you love building, creating, experimenting, and trying new things? Then Library Imagineers is the place for you. This program is hands-on challenges, cool experiments, creative projects, & building adventures. (grades 1-3)
THURSDAYS
-CRAFT IT UP!: Mrs. Bellrose wants to encourage your imagination in making some beautiful crafts that won’t only be fun to do with the group but also will be exciting to show off to your friends/family. A few hints of projects to come are: Owls, Sunflowers, Turkeys and MORE! (grades 1-3)
