Proposal Guidelines
Project Proposals are due Friday, January 31, 2020. No Late Proposals Will Be Accepted - No Exceptions.
You must complete your proposal in Google Docs using this form: Senior Project Proposal Form (viewable below). Please click the link while signed in to your Google Account, select "File" and "Make a copy...." Then complete all questions on the form with your group members.
When you are ready to submit the form, print a hard copy, obtain the signature of your faculty advisor, and submit in the main office.
It is highly recommended that seniors consider service-oriented projects. Giving back to the larger community in some way is valued but not required.
Please be aware of the following as you complete your project proposal:
1. The Senior Project Proposal Committee will determine whether a proposal meets the expectations for a viable project. The committee may accept a proposal, accept a proposal with a request for more information, or reject a proposal as insufficient.
2. If the student’s project is accepted with a request for more information, a revised proposal is due by Thursday, March 19, 2019.
3. It is the responsibility of the student to share the Proposal Committee’s response and feedback with the project advisor.
4. Seniors are responsible for finding a suitable faculty advisor for their projects. Students must include the name of the faculty advisor on their initial proposals. The role of the project advisor is one of support. The minimum expectations of the advisor include:
-reviewing feedback from the Proposal Committee with the senior.
-meeting at least once during the project period to review the student’s progress and discuss the plans for the presentation.
5. Students may not join an approved project group after the proposal deadline.
6. Seniors must keep a blog of their activities during the project period.
