1. I am completing a project in a group. Do we each need to submit our own proposal?
No. Only one proposal per group project is necessary.
2. Do I need a community contact person?
Not necessarily, but strongly encouraged. Some projects do require this, namely those where you will be working with/for a specific community organization or on the land of a specific community organization. That said, even for projects where this is not the case, it could be useful to obtain a faculty advisor that has expertise in an area related to your project.
3. What happens if my proposal is not accepted in the first round?
Students will need to revise their proposals until they meet the necessary criteria for a successful project.
5. Can you give me a project idea?
We can help, but it is your job to seek help with this process. This process asks you to come up with an original project that is both meaningful and personal. You're welcome to check out the types of projects that have been successful in the past, of course. You can talk to your advisor, Ms. Burroughs, Ms. Holland and/or Mr. Fersch.
6. Do I have to do my presentation? Presentations make me nervous....
Yes, you must complete your presentation. It's your opportunity to demonstrate that you've learned the presentation skills you've practiced in classes here at Greely. That said, please contact us for ideas if you're feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of speaking in public.
