The i-Gallery @Yu Neng aims to raise public and students’ awareness and interest in Yu Neng Primary School’s rich heritage as primary school with 80 years of history. It is an on-going social project to archive the progress and growth of Yu Neng Primary School. This project was first initiated and anchored by the school in conjunction with the celebration of our nation’s 50th year of independence.
The i-Gallery @Yu Neng is integrated with the curriculum design of learning experiences and trails with physical artefacts and digital resources. For example, you will see the physical artefacts of pre-war brass school bell, photographs, documents of yesteryears; and digital resources of oral history, e-books, related YouTubes of school events, students’ work, quizzes and other multimedia. These physical and digital resources are embedded within the Heritage Gallery for students and visitors to appreciate heritage and progress of the school, community and Singapore.
The design for the i-Gallery@ Yu Neng allows on-going and sustained curation of both physical and embedded digital resources through curriculum integration and involvement of students. The first phase of the curation was done with much support from the school’s alumni, community and stakeholders. The i-Gallery is a futuristic heritage gallery that is designed to be enjoyed and appreciated by all.
