The Team

Rick Page, Principal Investigator

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. I was born and raised in California and received my B.S. in Biochemistry from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. During my time at Cal Poly I conducted undergraduate research in organic chemistry examining the regioselectivity of o-thioalkylation reactions. I also conducted research analyzing the photoisomerization of diphenylbutadiene as part of a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program at Santa Clara University. I attended graduate school at Florida State University and trained in solution and solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) with Tim Cross at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. I received my Ph.D. in 2008 for my work in characterizing membrane proteins by solution and solid state NMR. I carried out postdoctoral research with Saurav Misra at the Cleveland Clinic using NMR and X-ray crystallography to uncover the molecular basis of chaperone-mediated ubiquitination, a key protein quality control pathway. I joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Miami University in 2013 as an Assistant Professor. I was tenured and promoted in 2018 and now as an Associate Professor serve as the Assistant Department Chair.
