Courses

CHM 471/571 - Biophysical Chemistry I

Fundamentals of physical chemistry with a view towards biochemical applications. Basic theories of chemistry are developed and related to experimental results of physical chemistry. Prerequisite: MTH 251 equivalent and PHY 182.

CHM 430J/740J - Membrane Proteins

Fundamental biochemical and biophysical principles that govern membrane protein structure and function including special attention paid to the unique environment presented by lipid bilayers. Prerequisite: CHM 433 or equivalent.

CHM 430S/740S - Signal Cascades

Signaling cascades form the backbone of cellular communication and the response to internal and external stimuli. In this course you will learn the biochemical and biophysical principles that signal cascades including protein structure and function. This includes special attention paid to the chemical reactions and physical principles that regulate interactions and posttranslational modifications.Prerequisite: CHM 433 or equivalent.
