Prayer Vigil Tips
Prayer Vigil Tips
Begin by asking God to clear your mind from all outside distractions. Place your thoughts and your spirit with the people and the Walk you have come to Him to bless.
Be silent a few moments and begin to feel His presence with you. Pray as if you are talking to your best friend ~ you are!
Ask Him to bless with His spirit the buildings, the grounds, and all things used to bring those present to an awareness of Him.
Pray for the lay director to walk in His spirit throughout the weekend. Pray for the outpouring of God's anointing on His chosen vessel of leadership for this Walk.
Pray for the assistant lay directors that they will have wisdom and discernment as they direct flow of the Walk. Pray that they will be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit as He directs them.
Pray for the spiritual director, to truly be an instrument of His spirit. Pray for the assistant spiritual directors in much the same way. Pray that each member of the spiritual team will have the right words at the right time to minister to each and every pilgrim as God has planned.
Pray for the prayer team, as they stand in the gap and intercede before the Throne of grace.
Pray for the board representative, to be quick to recognize and respond to any and all special situations that arise.
Pray for the bell ringer, that the schedule will run smoothly and to keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed.
Pray for the agape team as they serve selflessly, tending to the details and unseen tasks that minister to both pilgrims and team, that they will truly be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Pray for the table leaders and assistant table leaders for discernment and sensitivity. Pray that they will have wisdom to know the right words at the right time, as well as the right time for no words at all. Pray that tables will bond together as brothers and sisters so that Your love will be evident.
Pray for the speakers; that they remember Whom they represent, lay down selves and glorify God. Pray for the talks ~ for the message they give, for the giver and for those who hear, that they may hear according to their need.
Pray for the musicians, that their music may bring God’s message and soothe troubled souls.
Pray for the pilgrims ~ each one, by name. Pray for the ones who can’t leave their thoughts behind, the ones uneasy in this setting, the ones who can’t sleep, the ones forced to come, the ones looking for magic and not miracles, the ones that are weary and worn, the ones already serving with all their hearts, the ones who are open and receiving, and for all conditions known only to God.
