Evacuation Procedures

In case of the need to evacuate the building, the alarm will be sounded. All students, teachers, guests and other personnel will then proceed according to the following patterns:

1. The first adult out sees to it that the doors remain open, both in the classroom and the exit doors, before proceeding. After all students and staff exit the classroom, the exit door should be closed. Unlock the door, if time allows and it is safe to do so.

2. Move quickly, in single file. Do not run or jostle others.

3. Leave by rows, starting with the students closest to the inside walls.

4. Designated personal will check bathrooms, locker rooms and other designated areas of the building to make sure they are clear of

people. An all clear will then be given.

5. Silence should be observed so that any instructions can be heard during the emergency.

6. Adults responsible for students will escort them to the back parking lot near the tennis courts before meeting their advisees.
