Students Must Apply Online for Financial Aid
There is a single application for all state financial aid programs. Seniors are encouraged to apply early. Seniors may apply online at www.mississippi.edu/financialaid for the following programs:
You may not begin these forms until Jan. 1 of your child's Senior Year.
Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) –
Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant (MESG) –
Higher Education Legislative Plan for Needy Students (HELP) – Application Deadline: March 31; Document Deadline: April 30
Nissan Scholarship – Application and Document Deadline: March 1(MUST apply through the Nissan information page)
Summer Developmental Program Grant – Application and Document Deadline: July 21
Scholarship information usually begins the first of February. Financial Aid for College begins with the following steps:
1. Apply for Federal Aid (FAFSA)
2. Apply for State Aid (MTAG, Pell Grant) Rise Up MS
3. Apply for scholarships at the college or university you plan to attend
4. Apply for local scholarships
Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is for those who plan to enroll full time at a 4 year college or university and plans to major in engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. Deadline Feb. 29
Get to College.org has just updated their scholarship listings to include private/outside scholarships, scholarship search engines, 2 year MS Colleges, and 4 year MS colleges.
Christian Leaders of the Future- Scholarship is located under the Christian Leaders tab and offers $1000 scholarships to two students. Deadline is December 5.
The American Legion offers scholarship and financial aid
