Prompt (Historical Fiction: Based on a true story with details and facts from the film, but also creative in nature):
Imagine you were a citizen of Herculaneum in 79AD, at the time of the massive eruption of Vesuvius. Retell the events of your last few days in the city, and describe what you went through. This should include your observations, your thoughts about what was happening and why, your emotions and feelings throughout the ordeal, your interactions with other people, etc... You may write in first person or third person, but be sure to make up (or look up) a good Roman name and introduce your character before you begin telling your personal story.
