Adding & Waitlist info
Adding/Waitlist Info:
The number of spots available listed in the schedule are not always up to date. Please do not rely on
those numbers; instead, try to add the course, and if spots are available, you will be added to the class. If
spots are not available, you will have the choice to add to the waitlist.
Waitlist:
If the course is full, add yourself to the Waitlist. Waitlisted students will have priority to add the course if spots become available.
CCSF waitlist procedures. Please check this page for detailed instructions and contact me if you have questions.
If you are on the waitlist, but have not been added by the first day of the semester, submit an add request, and email me and also attend the first class. I will add students if I am able after the first day of class.
Full Waitlist - What to Do:
If the waitlist for my class is full, I advise those students who would still like to join the waitlist to take the following steps:
Email me at vmiller@ccsf.edu and let me know that you would like to add to the waitlist. Give me your full name and student number and let me know why you would like to add the course. This will help me filter out bots/fake students. I will then add you to my secondary waitlist.
Keep trying to add to the waitlist until the beginning of the semester. Students often drop before the semester begins, and people from the existing waitlist will be automatically added to the roster, making room on the waitlist.
Attend the first class. I will add students when possible, with priority to waitlisted and secondary waitlisted students who come to the first class meeting.
I usually will not add students after the first two weeks as it is too difficult to make up work after that time.
For those on the waitlist:
Email me at vmiller@ccsf.edu to let me know you are on the waitlist and why you are interested in adding the class. This will help me filter out bots or fake students.
If you are on the waitlist, don’t purchase books or supplies until you are officially registered for the course.
If you have not been added before the first day of the semester, please email me with your full name and student ID and let me know that you are still interested in the class and why you would like to take the class.
Attend the first class meeting. You will be not added/dropped if you do not. I will add students if there is room after the first class meeting in the order of the waitlist.
Waitlist Priorities and No-Shows:
Registered students who do not attend the first face-to-face class meeting or who don't log into Canvas and submit the first assignment during the first week of class will be considered "No-Shows" and will be dropped from the roster or waitlist to make room for adding students.
If I have room to add students, I will add students who attend the first class and will give priority, based on your position on the waitlist, first to those on the official waitlist, then to those who are on my secondary waitlist and then to non-waitlisted students.
Continuing Education students will be added at the discretion of the instructor if there is room after all regular students have been added.
