Recorders

In October, 3rd and 4th graders we will begin playing recorders in music class. Recorders are useful for teaching several concepts in music: note reading, rhythm reading, phrasing, breath control, eye/hand coordination, and fine motor skills. They are also a great transition into band or choir in middle school because they teach students to read notes and follow a melodic line. Being able to play songs “all by themselves” also gives students a sense of pride and accomplishment. Recorders may be purchased by the student from a local music store, or borrowed free of charge from the school. Please see the attached info letter for more information, along with the slip to be signed by the parent and turned in by 2022.
