Valerie Borer
Hello! My name is Valerie Borer, and I am the Occupational Therapist in the Developmental Preschool. I received my Masters in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 2013, and have been working with children in both pediatric clinics and schools since. I started with the Madison Elementary School District in 2017. My passion is working with preschool-age students and developing functional skills though play and sensory exploration! In 2020, I completed the Sensory Integration Certification Program through the University of Southern California. I work in the preschool Monday through Thursday.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and two young children. When I am not busy with my children’s activities, I love to run, play soccer, travel, and read!
Hillary Vance
Hello! My name is Hillary Vance and I am the physical therapist for the developmental preschool. I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Northern Arizona University in 2015 and my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Arizona State University in 2011. My background is working with children in the hospital providing acute care and in the pediatric clinic setting. I joined the Madison team during the 2019-2020 school year. My mission is to empower children and families to optimize functional mobility.
When I am not on the floor with the preschoolers, I enjoy gardening, reading, loving on my rescue pup Frida and spending time in nature. I am always on the lookout for the best cup of green tea and local coffee shops. I am with Madison School District on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
