Concert Evaluation
It is important to SEE excellence in the arts in order to BE excellent in the arts.
*To help enhance student performance, knowledge, and appreciation of singing in choir, each AWVM student is tasked with attending, in-person, a live choir concert (at least) once per semester.
*10% of a students' semester grade in choir will be based on the successful completion of an assignment to "enjoy a concert from the audience."
Concert Requirements
As a means of ensuring a quality evaluative experience for students, the required concert attendance MUST be at the concert of a High School, Collegiate, Community, or Professional-level, or Auditioned-Youth Choral Ensemble
Attendance at Elementary/Middle School concerts is encouraged, but not suitable to fulfill this assignment.
Groups which appear on the list below are automatically approved for suitable concert attendance.
A student wishing to attend the concert of a group not shown below must submit a written (email) concert approval request to Mr. Schjodt prior to attending the concert for which the inquiring student is hoping to attend in fulfillment of this assignment.
Students are not required to spend money in pursuit of the completion of this assignment. Conveniently, many of the ensembles listed below offer free concert tickets to K-12 students when the student requests tickets no less than 48 hours in advance of the concert. Students will be responsible for any concert-related expense that may develop when successful planning/time-management strategies are not successfully utilized.

*- Arapahoe VM ensembles frequently perform with various groups. Attendance a such an event is permissible for this assignment providing you are attending the event of an AWVM ensemble in which you are not currently enrolled AND the performance is a formal concert with concert programs. (Ex. Chorale @ #GirlBoss Concert with RCHS= YES!, Arapahoe Singers caroling @ SouthGlenn= NO!)
