Venerdí, il 18 Febbraio: NYC to Roma

Depart by coach at 2:00 pm from Longmeadow High School to New York (JFK) for our evening flight to Rome. Meals in flight.

8:34 am: It's been a morning of madness and mayhem! Luggage is lining up on stage and there was a steady stream of students in my office before school giving me passports and documents to hold onto for the day. I can't remember the last time I saw upperclassmen this awake at 8:00 am! The air is filled with excitement.

We left LHS at 2 pm and enjoyed our bus ride. I usually prefer social time on the bus to movies, but I made an exception this time: "The Lizzy Maguire Movie" is set in Rome, and gave us a taste of the sights. Plus, it inspired an impromptu singalong:

Bonjourno, America! I am on a bus. We are currently entering New York in route to JFK. We just sang Bohemian Rhapsody for our bus driver. It’s Stacy speaking. Or typing. Hannah Sears is telling me all the spelling and grammar mistakes I am making. This is a really nice computer. I hope our plane ride is not too bumpy I am really looking forward to cuddling up with my Ipod. So far, the bus ride has already been a good time. We watched the Lizzie McGuire movie and Kwerl said that if any of us get sick we have to have a chaperone stay with us in the hotel room. Steve Barnett just pulled out the ukelele. I am looking forward to the week ahead of us. I am dressed to impress for the Europeans, really channeling “Gaga goes to Rome.” Billy is planning on arriving to Italy in an egg, so hopefully it will make it through the security check. Well, that’s all for now folks. Next time you hear from me, we will be on the other side of the world. Ciao!

Peace out America! The bus ride to JFK airport has been filled with the Lizzy McGuire movie, Steve’s ukulele being passed around the bus, and random outburst of song. Tim Farris has been rapping constantly while listening to techno. His rhymes are so ill, that I instantly started to beat box. We just crossed the White Stone bridge, and time is flying by as we ride upon this bus. Tucker Knox Kinne is typing this document which was dictated by Daniel Jacob Borowsky. The hipster, aka Jason “basson” McQuade, is straight chillen’ in the back of the bus. We sang two pieces, that are in our large arsenal. We just passed a billboard which featured the star on “Entourage”, Adrian Grenier. We can’t wait to leave the states, deuces. Cheers.

It's 4:15 and we're on the bus headed to JFK! We just entered New York with about 15 miles to go. I've been up since 6:00 this morning, getting little sleep last night (though I'm probably not the only one :))

and our flight doesnt leave until 9:40pm! Needless to say I'm a little tired but there is enough excitement in the air that sleep is the last thing on my mind. I'd like to leave you with a smile so please just take a moment and picture 40 high schoolers trying to get through airport security!

Ciao!
