ATP HOSTED CLASSES:
Q: Who will organize and pay the travel and hotel costs for LF instructors?
A: Normally our instructors will book their own travel arrangements using information collected from the customer that ordered the onsite class. This is then charged back to the end customer after class is over.
Q: Will we communicate with the instructor regarding the logistic details?
A: You will be introduced to the instructor via email. You can then proceed to discuss logistics and class details with the instructor.
Q: How will the manual be provided?
A: You will be provided with a watermarked PDF. You will use this PDF to print manuals for your instructor and students.
Q: Do we need to submit class survey results to the Linux Foundation.
A: Yes, the Linux Foundation requires customer satisfaction feedback be provided after every course delivered, including when you supply your own instructor. The data from all courses delivered must be shared, unedited, with us for use in assessing instructor performance, ATP performance, and reactions to the training material. We will supply a survey key to the instructor prior to the class start date. This key will be used by the students to submit the class survey.
Q: What if we want one of our employee's to attend the class?
A: The employee may attend at no charge as long as you notify the Linux Foundation prior to the class start date.
OPEN ENROLLMENT CLASSES
Q: We’d like to put most Linux Foundation training sessions on our website. Is that possible and how can we synchronize information such as dates and prices?
A: If you wish to promote and resell into existing LF scheduled classes you may choose to use an RSS feed. We also provide an automated weekly report listing the class schedule and statuses (Dates, Location, GTR Status, Cancelled).
Q: Do you provide the class details to the students once we enroll them?
A: Approximately 2 weeks prior to the class we send the student a welcome letter with details regarding the date, time and location of the class. We attach instructions for preparing their laptop for class. For virtual classes we send a calendar invite to the student containing the details needed to join the class.
Q: In what timezone are the virtual classes held?
A:Virtual classes run from 9:00am - 5:00pm US Central Time ( we do observe daylight savings time) unless otherwise noted on the schedule.
Q: Do students get a certification for attending an LF class?
A: We will send the student a certificate of attendance for completing a class. It is delivered to them via a digital file that is emailed to them after the class is completed.
GENERAL:
Q: What is the difference between a 'Certificate of Completion' and 'Certification'?
A: A 'Certificate of Completion' is provided to students upon successful completion of the course. In addition, the LFS301 includes an LFCS exam voucher and LFS311 includes an LFCE exam voucher. Once the students passes the LFCS or LFCE exam they are provided with an exam 'Certification'.
Q: As an ATP, will be I listed as a partner on the Linux Foundation website?
A: Yes, please send web quality image file of company logo, company name as it should appear, and url for the page to click through to Darrell Flewell at dflewell@linuxfoundation.org. The current partner listing can be seen here https://training.linuxfoundation.org/training/regional-training/
