什麼是圖書催還/預約制度?

針對被外借的圖書，您可以在線上提出預約請求，系統會根據您的請求，向本書的持有人發送變更到期日的催還信，通知借閱者於14日內歸還。逾期歸還除封鎖權益外，另每冊每日課以新台幣5元滯還金。

For borrowed books, you can submit a reservation request online. The system will send a reminder to the current holder of the book to extend the due date based on your request, notifying the borrower to return the book within 14 days. In the event of overdue returns, aside from suspension of borrowing privileges, a late fee of NT$5 per book per day will be imposed.

所借圖書如果被預約了，圖書到期日如何計算?

If a borrowed book has been requested, how is the due date calculated?

A2：

自被預約日之次日起算，第14天即為到期日。即保障至少14天借期。

The due date is set as the 14th day from the day following the reservation date, ensuring a minimum borrowing period of 14 days.

寒暑假期間若不在校內，收到圖書館催還通知，該怎麼辦？

What should I do if I receive a library recall notice during winter or summer vacation when I am not on campus?

可將圖書用郵政、宅配、貨運等方式，寄送621301 嘉義縣民雄鄉大學路一段168號 國立中正大學圖書館綜合服務櫃檯（還書）收。寄件日即為還書日。

You can send the books by postal service, courier, or freight to the Library Service Counter, National Chung Cheng University Library, No.168, Section 1, University Road, Minxiong Township, Chiayi County 621301, Taiwan (Book Return). The date of shipment will be considered the return date.

哪些館藏資料不能從24小時自動還書機歸還？

Which types of library materials cannot be returned via the 24-hour self-service book return system?

A4：

1.    尺寸過大或過小者；特大本書及寛度小於14公分的館藏

2.    須經人工確認者：如CD片及多媒體，為辨識內容物，且規避在履帶傳輸過程中造成內容物脫落等損壞館藏情事。

3.    隔夜借閱資料。部份館藏（中西文參考書、中西文現刊、過刊、教師著作、教授指定參考書等）欲確保其日間的流通性，僅開放館內閱覽，而在不再進行流通的閉館時間，才開放讓讀者借出使用，並要求在下個開館日開館後30分鐘內歸還，形成隔夜借閱。比如教授指定參考書，流通速率如果遲滯，怎麼能滿足修課同學的需求？且此類資料的罰金係以小時計，若以還書機歸還，除影響上架速度，並可能造成不必要的糾紛。

1.    Items with dimensions that are too large or too small; oversized books and items with a width less than 14 centimeters in the collection.

2.    Items requiring manual confirmation: such as CDs and multimedia materials, which need manual identification of content to avoid damage during the conveyor belt transfer process, preventing potential detachment or harm to the collection.

3.    Overnight borrowings: Some materials (e.g., Chinese and Western reference books, current Chinese and Western periodicals, back issues, faculty publications, professor-designated reference books, etc.) are made available for in-library use during the day to ensure accessibility. However, they are only allowed to be borrowed and used after the library has closed, with a requirement to return them within 30 minutes of opening the next open day. This practice, known as overnight borrowing, is in place to maintain circulation during the day. For instance, in the case of professor-designated reference books, if the circulation rate is slow, how can the needs of students in the course be met? Additionally, fines for such materials are calculated hourly, and returning them through the book return system may not only affect the shelving speed but also lead to unnecessary disputes.
