Weekly Lessons

Lessons will have weekly skill themes focusing on the following National Health Education Standards: Accessing Valid & Reliable Information, Goal Setting, Analyzing Influences, Self-Management, Advocacy and Interpersonal Communication.

Week of March 30th - Theme: Goal Setting & Reconnecting - personal assessment assignments (Daily life clock, google survey)

Week of April 27th - Theme: Self-Management Skill: Choice Board offering research-based activity options for the health education skill of "Self-Management." Proven to help increase wellness, these activities will allow you to examine & reflect upon your leading role in maintaining & enhancing your own health. Focus on the learning activities that interest you most!


Week of May 4th - Theme: Self-Management Skill Continued: Choice Board with an additional activity offering research-based activity options for the health education skill of "Self-Management." Proven to help increase wellness, these activities will allow you to examine & reflect upon your leading role in maintaining & enhancing your own health. LHS Remote Learning Activity Plan Week of May 4th

Week of May 11th - Theme: Analyzing the Influences Skill: Choice board with a variety of activities offering research based activities for the health education skill of "Analyzing the Influence." We all make health-related decisions every day, but we don’t always take the time to consider what factors might be influencing our choices. Being able to analyze this helps us to identify the source of influence, the message received, & the impact the message might have on our health-related decisions. Below are some activities that will help you practice the skill of analyzing influences on your life.

LHS Remote Learning Activity Plan Week of May 18th

Week of May 26th - Theme: Self-Management Skill: Coping with stress during Covid-19 in our new virtual classroom! Our virtual classroom is similar to the choice board, you will have the opportunity to choose the learning activity that interests you most! Activities are based on information put together by Researchers at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development and will provide tools to help you to cope with stress in your life and to identify how and when to ask for help and support.

Week of June 1st - Theme: Interpersonal Communication Skill: Virtual classroom with activities that focus on healthy ways to communicate when there's something bothering you in a relationship. In light of the current level of events that have taken place, this week’s assignment is optional. Optional activities will focus on the skill of Interpersonal Communication and provide tools to help us to learn effective communication with family, peers, and others that can enhance health as well as to provide strategies to prevent, manage, or resolve interpersonal conflicts without harming ourselves or others.
