I specialize in Social and Political Psychology. My current research focuses on how the emotions we feel as a consequence of our social identities shape intergroup relations. My students and I have been exploring this question in projects with the following themes: intergroup apology, competitive victimhood between groups, and collective action (protest). [Research page]

I received my B.A. from Northwestern University and my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My work has appeared in Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Group Processes & Intergroup Relations, and the International Journal of Role-play.

At Lewis & Clark College, I teach a range of courses including Research Methods, Social Psychology, Advanced Social Psychology: Intergroup Relations, and Social Norms. For more information please see my Courses page.
