Contact Mr. Slifka

Joe Slifka is a 2007 Youngstown State University graduate with a B.S. in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in mathematics and science. He earned his M.A. in Teaching and Learning in K-12 Technology Integration from Nova Southeastern University in 2011.

In 2018, Mr. Slifka was honored to be selected as both a LEGO Education US Master Educator and a member of The Ambassador Group from Pitsco Education, LLC and has been active in both groups since. He's written and received grants for varying amounts over the years, including a $13,000 grant to start a robotics club from the Toshiba America Foundation in 2014. He was selected as one of fifty educators from a nationwide pool to attend the Siemens STEM Institute in 2011. He has also been awarded the WKBN $500 Creative Classroom grant on two separate occasions (once as a teacher at Liberty High School in 2011 and again in 2015 as a teacher for LaBrae) and was named a Turning Technologies Distinguished Educator in 2010.

Joe and his wife Deanna have three daughters and reside in Youngstown, OH.
