Welcome to argumentative writing. In this type of writing, you will be forming an opinion, but trying to "get the reader to accept [your] perspective/[your] side as truth" (Smekens Education Solutions, Inc., 2012).
Argumentative writing is actually not like the name implies; it isn't rude, disrespectful, or aggressive. Instead, the writer uses a formal tone backed by facts and expert opinions to help the reader understand the writer's opinion.
