A non-refundable deposit of $3000 will be required immediately after signup.
Year groups who can apply: Students in Y11 or above for Challenge Week November 2024.

Requirements: Students studying or who have studied German at IGCSE level or higher.

You may have been studying German for up to 4 years or more and may never have been to a German-speaking country!
Well, now is your chance to do just that by coming with us to beautiful Germany and experience life as a German for a week. You’ll be able to enjoy the crisp, autumnal days and we might even have snow in early November.
This trip's primary purpose is to give you the opportunity for language immersion in German. We will travel to Berlin where, one of the most significant cities in twentieth century history.
From Monday to Friday, you will do more intensive work on your language skills as each day will begin with a morning language course. That still leaves the afternoons and evenings for lots of indoor and outdoor activities.
We will also visit some of the amazing sights in and around Berlin, for example the Reichstag building, Berlin Wall remnants and iconic TV tower

DRAFT ITINERARY
Day 1 Sat 31 Oct
Meet at Hong Kong International Airport and take Turkish Airlines flight to Berlin, connecting in Istanbul.
Day 2 Sun 1 Nov
Arrive in Berlin - collect luggage and complete necessary security checks
Meet coach and transfer to accommodation - check in upon arrival.
Spend the afternoon exploring Berlin on foot/using public transport completing the Berlin Adventure Quest
Return to accommodation in time for evening meal.
Day 3 Mon 2 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation & collect packed lunches
Morning: lessons in language school
Sightseeing in Berlin city centre - Reichstag Dome & Terrace, walk along Unter den Linden, visit the Field of Stelae at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Potsdamer Platz
Return to accommodation in time for evening meal
Day 4 Tue 3 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation & collect packed lunches
Morning: lessons in language school
Afternoon: head out of the city centre to the Olympic Stadium & have time to visit with a guided tour
Return to Berlin city centre on public transport once your visit has finished
Evening meal in accommodation, followed by bowling at a local bowling alley
Day 5 Wed 4 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation & collect packed lunches
Morning: lessons in language school
Afternoon: head to the Deutsches Technikmuseum & enjoy time to explore
Return to accommodation in time for evening meal, followed by an evening at Laserquest or similar
Day 6 Thu 5 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation & collect packed lunches
Morning: lessons in language school
Afternoon: group to enjoy sightseeing in Berlin city centre - activities include a visit to the Berlin Wall Memorial, the East Side Gallery and the TV Tower for fantastic views over the city
Return to accommodation in time for evening meal, followed by a visit to the IMAX Cinema
Day 7 Fri 6 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation & collect packed lunches
Morning: lessons in language school
Afternoon: group to enjoy sightseeing in Berlin city centre - suggested activities include a visit to Berlin Story Bunker, the Topography of Terror and time to take photos at the former Border Checkpoint Charlie
Walk through the Gendarmenmarkt to Bebelplatz and onto Unter den Linden or Museumsinsel
Group to enjoy evening meal in a city centre restaurant before returning to accommodation to pack, etc.
Day 8 Sat 7 Nov
Breakfast in accommodation, collect packed lunches & check out - store luggage for collection later in the day
Depending on flight times, group to enjoy time at leisure to finish any sightseeing/shopping in Berlin city centre
Return to accommodation - load luggage onto coach and transfer to departure airport
Return indirect flight from Berlin back to Hong Kong
Day 9 Sun 8 Nov
Arrive back at Hong Kong international Airport, where parents make arrangements for students to get home.
