The Sunshine Rooms Pottery Studio on Peng Chau Island is run by Conrad Li. The focus of the week is two-fold: developing skill in learning how to use the Pottery Wheel, and expressing personal creativity in Handbuilding Design. This excellent location gives students an opportunity to experience life outside of the classroom in the working studio of a master potter.
This is a course for beginners in Pottery. Students will have the opportunity to work in clay on a wheel-based project, learning the techniques and secrets of this ancient art. The course will also give students an introduction to numerous handbuilding techniques, such as surface decoration, slab building and crafting the pinch-pot.
The cost includes all materials. Students may choose five pieces to be fired and glazed, which they can take home.
Creativity: Individual skills development of a ceramic project. Focus on wheel based work.
