Take part in a unique Hong Kong filmmaking challenge in purpose built film studios in Wong Chuk Hang and on location.
Hong Kong is one of the most iconic cities in cinema, but students rarely know why, which means they lack a crucial understanding of Hong Kong’s cultural significance to a global audience. In this week-long activity from Babel Film Workshop, students will be challenged to make original short films at the location of an iconic movie shot in Hong Kong, including Hollywood blockbusters like Doctor Strange, Godzilla vs. Kong, and The Dark Knight.
Students will:
Learn to write, direct, shoot, edit, and act in a short film through collaboration
Make short films at the actual locations of movies shot in Hong Kong
Understand how their films shot in Hong Kong may appeal to a global audience
Work with filmmakers who have experience in the Hong Kong and international film industries
Completed films will compete for an award judged by professional filmmakers and teachers. Students can optionally sign up as a group of 2-5 students to be part of the same production team. Limited to 18 students only, so sign up now for an unforgettable filmmaking experience!
