IMPORTANT CHANGES:
PAST PERFORMANCE VIDEOS DELETED: I deleted most Flipgrid performance videos. Preparing the pieces was too awkward without in-class rehearsals.
BREEZIN' THRU POINTS FOR ONLY THE "MAD DASH DRILLS". On Breezin' Thru chapters, I am now only counting the "Mad Dash Drills". For example: Chapter One, the maximum total points is 5.
YOUR COPIES OF PIECES ARE FOR YOU TO ENJOY AND TO KEEP YOU PLAYING YOUR INSTRUMENT! It is VERY LIKELY that we will play some of those pieces this Fall! So if you know them now, you'll be ahead of everyone else!
ORCHESTRAS: ANSWERS TO COMMON ISSUES
BREEZIN’ SCORES:
· Your Breezin’ scores on Skyward show the number of drills you have COMPLETED. Not how many types of drills you’ve tried, nor how times you’ve repeated drills.
· Your first Breezin’ assignment is to complete Chapter One “The Staff”, consisting of:
o Three Lessons
o Five “Mad Dash Drills” (you do these in YOUR instrument’s clef)
o One game “Stickin’ the Staff”
· To COMPLETE a drill means that you get a passing score. I don’t remember what ‘passing’ is at the moment, but you’ll know when you do a drill.
· Redo drills until you pass them. I suggest that you not go on to a different drill until you’ve passed the one you’re working on.
FLIPGRID ISSUES:
· You can hide your performance videos so that no one besides me can see them, by changing them from ACTIVE (green) to HIDDEN (red).
· Some of you misplaced your Flipgrid videos by putting them into the wrong assignment. For example, you may be doing a scale video, but you do it in a musical phrase assignment.
· Don’t ask me if I’ve received your video(s). Go into your own Flipgrid account to find:
o Emails from Flipgrid confirming that your video was successfully delivered to me.
o My Feedback Emails about your video performances.
ORCHESTRA JOURNAL ISSUES:
· For 4th quarter, you may submit past due Orchestra Journals. Normally, I do not permit this but given the current situation, I am temporarily cancelling that restriction.
· Please do not pre-submit journals weeks in advance. How can you foresee how much practice time you will do three weeks from now? Mayb3 your goal next week will be different than what you think it will be.
ALL ORCHESTRAS ANNOUNCMENTS

PRACTICING:
NEW PRACTICE RUBRIC: 4 = One hour; 3 = 45 minutes; 2 = 30 minutes 1 = .15 minutes, 0 = no practice time.
PLAY EVERYDAY, even if it's only for a short time.
DAILY PRACTICE ROUTINE: Your Orchestra's customized DAILY PRACTICE ROUTINE appears at the bottom of that page. You need to use some or all of it during every practice session.
