GENERAL INFORMATION:

This year, we will study the following units:

Unit 1 The Meaning of Memory

• • What is memory?

  • How do individuals and society decide what will be remembered?

Unit 2 The Weight of Acceptance

• • What role do group norms play in the acceptance of ourselves and others?

  • What outweighs the desire to be accepted by others?

Unit 3 My Mask, Myself

• • What purposes do masks serve?

  • Is it more beneficial or harmful to wear a mask?

Unit 4 The Road to Perseverance

• • Why do some people persevere while others are unsuccessful?

  • What can we learn from the perseverance of others to help us overcome our own adversity in today’s world?

    • Unit texts along with various other selections used to teach grammar and writing styles
