This year, we will study the following units:

Experience chilling tales that build tension, twist expectations, and keep readers guessing.
Unit 2 Conveying Courage
Explore powerful examples of courage in moments crisis or adversity across multi-genre texts.
"A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens
Unit 3 Twelve Angry Men
Step inside a jury room to examine justice, responsibility, and the power of persuasion.
Units 4/6 Â Debates: Contact Sports, School Start Time, School Electives, and Social Media
Analyze the impact of a given topic and rearch the effect on teens' health and success.
Unit 5 Not That Different
Analyze stories of "othering" to understand empathy, fairness, and human connection.
