Outstanding Student of the College

Bidisha Maharana is a final-year student of the Department of History who has successfully combined a consistently good academic performance and extensive research work with remarkable extracurricular achievements. She has diligently worked as the History Department's Cultural Secretary, English Editor of the Reminiscence - the Magazine of History Department and as the General Secretary of Alaap which is the College's Indian Music Society. She has completed a certificate course in Gender and Sexuality from the University of Pittsburgh. Her versatility extends to public speaking and creative writing and she  has participated in numerous prestigious open mic events. As a part of the Lighthouse's Global Pen Pals project, an initiative under Melton Foundation that aims to foster friendship between India and Pakistan, she has been involved in hosting and scripting a global podcast series, exchanging of letters and working on a documentary film. A budding poetess, her poems have received special recognition and have been published in anthologies by Spotwrite Publication, as well as online blogs and e-magazines.

Bidisha Maharana was awarded the Major General Virendra Singh Memorial Prize instituted by Mrs. Mira Pradeep Singh for the Outstanding Student of the College.


All Round Excellence

Shubhra Uniyal is a final year student of the Department of History, She has combined a consistently good academic performance and research acumen with excellent credentials as a debater and adjudicator. She has been the General Secretary of the English Debating Society  (2022-23) and the winner of national English debating tournaments like the Smt. Durgabhai Deshmukh Conventional Debate 2021 at the University of Delhi, and the Parliamentary Debate 2021 at the Ambedkar University. She has been an Adjudicator at international debating tournaments like Asia World School's Debate and Rahat Fundraiser Debate. Deeply committed to community initiatives, she has been a researcher and content writer for  the NGO Shiksha Bank recognized by of Delhi and has been awarded the best performing individual for the same.

Shubhra Uniyal was awarded the Pushpa Bhargava Memorial Prize instituted by Dr. Meena Bhargava for All-Round Excellence.

 Best All Round Achievers of the History Department

Preeti is a final year student of the  Department of History has a consistently good academic record. She has  to her credit a research paper co-authored for an international conference. She is an active member of the History Department's  Academic Society and is currently its Vice President and has contributed significantly to the Department as a member of its social media team for the last two years. She has won several prizes in inter and intra College photography competitions .She qualified as the finalist in TOYCATHON Grand Finale 2021, jointly launched by various ministries , Government of India , under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan for creatively designing a board game for studying History.

Preeti was awarded the Indraprastha College for Women Excellence Award.

HARSHITA KUMARI and SANDHYA SINGH was awarded the Lala Jugal Kishore Jagdish Prasad Memorial Prize instituted by Late Shri Narain Prasad for standing first in M.A. (Final) History.

DEEPTI MISHRA  is awarded the K. N. Kukreja Memorial Prize instituted by Mrs. Neera Kukreja  Sohoni for securing the Highest CGPA in B.A. History Honours Part III.

SANCHI SINGHANIA is awarded the Smt. Bhagwati Devi Memorial Prize instituted by Mrs. Prem Mukhi Saxena for securing the Highest CGPA in B.A. Honours History Part II.

NISHTHA SINGH is awarded the Anand Narain and Pushpa Bhargava Memorial Prize instituted by Dr. Meena Bhargava for securing the Highest CGPA in B.A. Honours History Part I.

AASRA SHARMA, SHRUTEE KOTHARI and SNIGDHA VATS of B.A. Honours History Part III are awarded the Shri Barkat Ram Mahajan Memorial Prize instituted by Mrs. Sneh Mahajan for Consistently Good Academic Performance in B.A. Honours History Part I and Part II combined.

ANJALI KUMARI and BHAVANA SINGH of B.A. Honours History Part III are awarded the Vandana Bhutani Mehta Scholarship instituted by Mrs. Champa Bhutani for the Most Deserving Student of B.A. Honours History Part I or Part II.

SANCHI SINGHANIA of B.A. Honours History Part III is awarded the Smt. Bhagwanti Kapoor Memorial Scholarship instituted by Mrs. Maya Kapoor for the Highest CGPA in B.A. Honours History Part I and Part II combined.

GARIMA CHOUDHARY of B.A. Honours History Part III is awarded the Smt. Gopali Devi Scholarship instituted by Shri Brijbans Kishore for getting Highest CGPA in Semester I-IV combined in B.A. Honours History.

ADITI DUBEY and PREETI of B.A. Honours History Part III were awarded the Urmila and Manmohan Lal Shrimali Memorial Prize instituted by Mrs. Manjula V. Shah for the best All-Round student of the Department of History.

SUKRITI SURI of B.A. Honours History Part II is awarded the Balraj Khillan Memorial Scholarship instituted by Dr. Rimpi K. Singh for the Highest CGPA in Part I among the Visually Challenged Students.

Bhavana Singh of B.A. Honours History Part III is awarded the Shri. B.N. Sharda Memorial Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship instituted by Mrs. K. Sharma.
