Wildlife Rescue

I.P. College has been known for its animal-friendly environment. There is a wide range of fauna living within the campus ranging from birds, dogs, cats, butterflies, dragonflies and Mongoose. IP's lush green campus and floral diversity have made it an excellent habitat for more than 40 species of birds, 11 species of butterflies and 4 sepcies of dragonflies and damselflies. Our biodiversity resource has been well-documented and is regularly monitored due to the sustained efforts from Centre for Earth Studies and the Department of Environmental Studies in form of Biodiversity trails and research projects.

IP college has an active rescue group of faculty members and students who are self-motivated and actively participate in rescuing injured birds and other animals. Rescued birds are taken to the Bird Hospital (Chandni Chowk) for treatment and are often returned back to the campus. These injured or sick animals are treated with tender care and love, and to see them recover fast is immensely satisfying.
