"Sign In with Google" provides employees with a convenient, secure, and efficient way to access the Employee Portal using their existing Google credentials, eliminating the need to remember additional passwords.
This single sign-on feature enhances productivity by streamlining the login process, supports seamless integration with Google Workspace tools, and improves security through centralized authentication, including options such as multi-factor authentication provided by Google.
It also reduces IT support tasks related to password resets and access management, ultimately providing a smoother user experience and increasing employee engagement with HR services.
The "Sign in with Google" feature works by leveraging Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol to authenticate employee users securely. Instead of managing separate usernames and passwords, employees authenticate with their Google account credentials on Google's secure login page. Once Google's identity verification is successful, HRPro uses the authenticated Google account information (typically the email address) to log the employee into the portal.
In Employee Portal Setup, General tab. Under the Login panel. In "Allow Login Employee Portal by", enabled "Sign in with Google".
Admins can disable the "Enable Sign in with Google" option for individual employees by navigating to Employee Master > EPortal tab, under the User Permissions and Roles panel.
The Gmail address used for login must be recorded in the Employee Master under either the 'Email' or 'Personal Email' fields to ensure successful authentication.
A button "Sign in with Google" will appear on the login page. Users simply click the button on the login page and authenticate using their Google Account credentials.
The system verifies the Google email address and matches it with the employee's email stored in the HRPro's Employee Master records. Once authenticated, users gain immediate access without needing to enter a separate password for the portal, making login quick and secure.
The process is seamless and reduces login friction by leveraging Google’s secure authentication infrastructure to achieve the Single Sign-On (SSO).
"Sign in with Google" offers an alternative login method for the Employee Portal. When enabled, users can still access the portal using their usual User ID and Password in addition to signing in with their Google account.
