Students will take the MAP Growth Test three times throughout the year, typically in September, January, and May. The purpose of MAP Growth is to determine students’ individual growth over time in various areas. This data allows teachers to track students' growth and make instructional decisions.
It is an adaptive test, which means every student will get a unique set of test questions based on responses to previous questions. As the student answers correctly, questions will get harder. If the student answers incorrectly, the questions will get easier. Unfortunately, once a student clicks "next", they will not be able to go back to the previous question. However, they have unlimited time to complete the MAP test, so taking your time is key!
As with anything we do, mindset matters! I encourage students to relax, focus, and put forth their best effort on the day of testing. They are allotted breaks as well. They will continue to work on their individualized goals in stations and will be setting their own growth goal after each round of MAP testing.
Any changes in testing dates for the 2024-2025 school year will be posted once determined:
Fall- September 12th -13th
Winter- January 9th - 10th

Students will take the NJSLA (formerly PARCC) state assessment once this year in the spring. This typically occurs in May. We will have several practice tests in school, but you may also visit the NJSLA testing practice site here to access three practice tests to help prepare for testing.
